Monarch Computer Systems... pretty reliable?

I just wanted to get some feed back about he www.monarchcomputer.com before I order from them. Has anyone used them in the past and if so were they pretty good about delivery and no hassle? Have you ever had to return something to them? Was it easy?

Any thing you can say about them would be good. I'm finding just about everything that I need there and prices are pretty much on par with NewEgg.

thanks!

Probably the first place that I would start is Here (resellerratings.com). You can get a wide variety of consumer feedback from most online vendors there.

I have used Monarch a few times, very happy with them. Also as I live in Louisiana, and they are out of Georgia I usually get things within 2-3 days, so I prefer them over newegg. Never had to return anything yet, though.

The only complaint I have is....I purchased all of my stuff for a new system last Sunday from 3 different retailers; Newegg, SVC and Monarch. I recieved everything from newegg and SVC 1 day early, last wednesday, and have yet to recieve my CPU/Mobo from Monarch. Also note, I live in Utah, and 1/2 of my Newegg order came from New Jersey...so it isn't only shipping dependent. Monarch took longer to process my order and get it out of the warehouse, I also e-mailed them 2x without a single response asking about the status of my order saying it needed verification from the buyer..? They never verified anything with me nor responded to my 2 e-mails, I still have no idea why my status was stuck at the needing my verificationm thing for 3 days... But since they have gotten it out of the warehouse everything has seemed to be on track and as the new schedule says.

I've never had a problem with Monarch regarding things I've ordered.

I've never had to return anything though so I can't comment on that part.

I just bought an x800xl from them. I had no problems at all. I think they usually take 1-2 days longer than NewEgg, but that is fine since they have good customer service. I don't know anyone that has had a problem they couldn't get resolved from Monarch.

Two thumbs up.

There is actually a guy who works there who posts on these forums all the time. Have heard nothing but good coments from Monarch customers

Thanks a bunch fellas! I'm gonna go ahead and order from Monarch and hopefuly should have a new rig by the end of next week!

I live in CA and I prefer Monarch over Newegg because I don't have to pay for tax. Most of my purchases at Monarch include free shipping too so I like shopping from them.

I just ordered a 3200+ Venice, Ultra-D, an X800XL, and some OCZ Value VX from them, so I hope everything goes well. They don't need to have great shipping time, because I have yet to purchase a HDD, case, and PSU (will order from Newegg tomorrow).

I have also bought several systems form them, and even had to send one board back for repair. It was the easiest thing I ever did, and I'm glad I paid the additional $15 for the extended warrenty and shipping. They have taken over as my #1 dealer, with Newegg at #2.

As a fellow Californian, I too appreciate the no sales tax aspect. Many of my larger orders go to Monarch, and they have never let me down with 10+ orders!

I've ordered from Monarch in the past with no problems, but for my latest build, I received a defective A64 3200+ which I had to RMA back to them in tandem with my mobo, memory and HSF. I ran diagnostics on all my hardware before sending it back (Prime95, Memtest, etc) and isolated the sole culprit as my 3200+. However, for reasons unkown to me, me memory was switched out in addition to my processor during the RMA process. A single DIMM in that pair turned out to be defective, but only after several hair pulling hours of reformatting, 95'ing, and cursing before I fell back on the old and simple standards of problem diagnosis. Needless to say, my entire comp was down for almost an entire month as I was required to RMA first my CPU/Mobo combo, and then the memory once again.

The morale of this story is simply that if you don't get defective merchandise, Monarch is (imo) an average vendor, but if you have to RMA any of your critical components, then I wish you good luck. (Although their engineers are very friendly) Newegg gets my endorsement, but if you've made it this far through my rant I'm sure you are capable of making a good decision without my input. 🙂

lol my luck sucks...another semi-annoying experience with Monarch...they require you to sign for the package. Well, here in the real world, people are at work a 11 A.M and cannot sign for their package...they also don't allow me to sign the little note from fedex like you would normally do, instead they require it be in person. So I have a feeling unless I can get time off of work just to specifcally be home during delivery or to get off early enough to go to the fedex location before they close, I will never recieve my stuff. I work 10:15 A.M - 7:15 P.M every damn day, and their offices close at 7 ....

Thumbs up for Monarch. They have been awesome in their effort to get Venice CPUs out to customers as quickly as possible. Many users on this forum received free upgraded shipping to that affect.

They are nice over at Monarch, but their punctuality with replies is very bad. I WAS going to guy a fully loaded system from them (one just like in my sig), but due to very very poor and untimely replies, and after being passed on to other sales reps because the manager I spoke with was, "too busy with a government contract" to help me out (his exact quote), I said forget it. They really don't like to hassle with customers at all. They are great if you don't have too many questions and want simple parts, but don't buy a fully loaded system from them. For that, I recommend either Velocity Micro (in my sig), Thunderbox, or VoodooPC. Stay far far far far far away from Dell, Cyberpower, Gateway, etc...

Completely unacceptable! I apologize immensely for that, and if you could PM to me who you spoke with I'll crack some heads over there.

Monarch beats newegg IMO...so does Mwave.

You live in CA monarch is the only place you should order from unless you just like paying taxes.

Do you work for Monarch? I hope so, because maybe you can shake some sense into them, because they lost a BIG sale from me. The guy I spoke with was supposedly of high rank. Not sure which guy was which, but I spoke with a "Dan" and a "Jason". One of them passed me off to the other after much hassle. Good luck.

I wouldn't hesitate for a second buying a Prebuilt System or Combo from Monarch

You pick the parts, very reasonable fee for assembly and testing, excellent warranty options, and you know Monarch will be there if you have problems unlike here today gone tommorow small custom system builders.
