Iraqi Government asks the Officers that were thrown out of the Army after the US invasion to return to power.

Risky, but maybe the only way to bring stability. Might actually place the Insurgentcy in a position to topple the government in a coop.
Sunni Military leadership may be behind the insergency, and if they are armed to protect 'the Government' may just take it over afterall.

So basically all we are doing is chopping off the head of Saddam, and sticking on our own head...leaving the body largely in tact....

Not saying I'm opposed to this, but it just makes me wonder when we attacked what kind of "Change" we wanted...

But he added: "I can't work under the command of the occupiers ... I fought them once; how can I possibly serve them?"

Powerful~ I hope ultimately that Iraqi aspirations can push us out, regardless of how much we want to stay.
