Mom's gonn'a have a stroke if she can't get her "language bar" back!

My mother's all upset that her microphone and Windows XP speech recognition pop-up window has disappeared!

Now she's in a state of panic and won't rest until her system is exactly as it was. What is the Windows XP microphone "language bar" she's referring to, and how do we load it up on the screen for her?

If I had more WinXP experience, I'd find the CPU-hogging utility myself, but we need to find it fast before she has a heart attack.

She's running around the house screaming about her blood pressure and quite willing to die over this CPU-sucking utility that doesn't work but she can't live without!

So... anyone know how to activate this silly Language Bar? :|

winxp doesn't come with speech recognition...

Right click on tastbar and goto Toolbars, click Language bar.

There is a language bar in XP but it's not for speed recognition...

yeah. it's not just restricted to roamnized languages

it doesn't just come with office xp. you can install it from widnwos setup. it's called ime.

Could be Office... she did get office with this Dell machine.

Hey, don't knock the Dell - it's a good machine. And this is the perfect user for a Dell.... if not a Mac. 😉

Thanks to GH, we got it fixed up all nice. Now at 1:30 AM I can go to sleep without her going nutzo about the computer.

If only that hard drive hadn't failed........ 92% free on her snazzy 80GB Seagate drive. Just got it replaced so I had to reload all her software. Mostly chatroom stuff..... *shiver*
