Jupiter, they diagnosed you with Prostate Cancer?

Hmmm.

How did they ever detect it with your thumb so far up your ass?

My sentiments exactly!
I just have a hard time with cancer.
Aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer in the early 70s, told her they had to remove the diseased lung & do chemo or she would die in less than 2 years.
She declined, said let it take her.
She died 2 years ago at age 87.

I was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer in '96, I was of the same line of thinking, I was ready to go, let it have me.
Diagnosed with prostrate cancer in '98, same line of thinking.
13 years later & damnit I'm still here.
WTF?

Another observation: Ever see anyone without Health Insurance be diagnosed with cancer?
I haven't.

I truly hope I have not offended ANYONE, especially the OP, just this subject brings out the worst in me.

There's always exceptions to the rule. It's silly to try to compare a couple of anecdotal experiences with decades of modern science..

WTF? This is the most ludicrous statement I've read.

Prostate cancer is a special case by the way, the majority of them grow so slowly that men who have them will die of something else long before the cancer kills them.

no no no, he said that he had prostrate cancer, which I can only assume is a disease that limits his ability to submit before authority.

After all these years... to finally have an answer to what has cursed my existence. I thank you kind sir and I'm off to irradiate myself under the care of a medical professional.

also, cancer within older people is far less devastating than in younger people. Your Aunt was probably quite young in the 70s, of course, but that is indeed an odd case.

Cells divide slower and slower as you reach advanced age, so while you have an increased chance of developing cancer due to aged cells, the damage tends to be much less severe because spread is easier to contain.

Going to this guy will guarantee her a quick death. Cancer can spread very quickly and the more time it's wasted the less chance there is of a successful recovery assuming that there is no cancer cell in surrounding tissues or organs.
