She tells me last friday that she mailed cookies that morning. I'm excited because they only take one day to make it across massachusetts and they'll be there the next day. Except there's no cookies Saturday. Sunday there's no mail and Monday was Columbus Day...So I figure TUESDAY I'll get cookies....but no. nothing. Same with wednesday, thursday, and friday. We figure someone stole them at the post office since they know my mom mails me food all the time. I got back from the gym yesterday though and on my porch was the box of cookies with 'ship regular' stamped on it for some reason. Fortunately she puts pieces of bread in the bags with the cookies, and that keeps them from going stale. But still.....

If she has the receipt she should be able to get a refund. Express Mail has a guaranteed delivery date.

I got a refund when I paid to have something shipped Priority Mail and they shipped it Parcel Post. It took almost five weeks to get to the destination, but since we didn't know that they had shipped it Parcel Post until it arrived, we had presumed it was lost.

The slice of bread is a nice trick. I hope you bought some milk because cookies don't go with tall glasses of gin

I hate USPS so much...their regular mail is more or less guaranteed to come at least 3 days late for me.

What kind of cookies?

Chocolate chip. They're just as good as when I was a kid. They never get old. I think she uses olive oil instead of shortening now or something, so that they're not as evil. But they taste just as good.

Your mom didn't see the postman stamp the box express or place the express sticker on it? Does she have a receipt? I bet she didn't send it express.

Good advice.

You can pay for priority mail status, but the PO won't ship it with the other priority packages unless you hand it to a live person, and get them to stamp it.

Packages left in a mailbox will not be loaded onto a plane, regardless of the postage on it. It's a security measure.

I would guess that the same applies to express mail, but you should verify that with your post office before you take my word for it.

I leave my PM packages in my mail box all the time and they are shipped priority. They get across the USA in 2 days, where first class, Parcel post, etc would take 5+.

You are just jealous coz you didn't get a :cookie:

Part of adulthood is being able to get cookies whenever you want.

Thanks for re-defining adulthood.

Did the original definition involve cake instead?
