Of course there's money in that. Unique one of a kind furniture can sell for mega$$$ (one of my cousins does this). Just need to find the right store front or distributor.

Edit: Beautiful work, btw.

Those look really good. Me, I would sell those at one of the many craft fairs we hold down here. Perhaps you guys have them as well. As for price, I have no clue. Is there a high demand for such artwork?

Tell your mother she needs to teach her son to rotate pictures the correct direction before posting them to the web so people don't kink their necks.

I'd have to have my gf critique the artwork b/c she always manages to find "glaring" imperfections in horse art.
But pending her approval, I'd probably but a piece for her :)
007 would make a pretty phat tack box, although I guess tack boxes have a tendency to get pretty well beat up...

Compared to most of the worthless crap that is sold at an arts & crafts show, those things are very cool.

I've seen people pay $25 for an friggin ear of indian corn decorated to look like a scarecrow.

Your mom should have no troubles selling these.

Those are very nice, I would think they would sell quite well.

You might start out going to some of the Equestrian (horse) shows around there, if there are any. Then expand from there. Maybe sell them on-line. Eventually advertise in Equestrian magazines.

Also look at the craft shows in the area.

Branch out to other animals (pets are always popular), landscapes, etc.

My dad used to do fairly well selling hand made pictures using old barn wood for a frame, and a horse related theme or picture. He would go to Western style riding exhibitions and shows, trade shows, and craft shows. They would love customized Western furniture.

Your mom does good work! :D

You could be rich. She probably just does it for enjoyment. Your job will be to turn her into a production unit. Lock your Mom in a room and whip her to crank those out.

If you were any type of a geek you wouldn't need to turn your head to see the pictures... well that or have an apparatuse hooked onto your monitor to turn it with a flip of a switch. Your choice... :D

I'd say there's money in it, but don't quit your regular job and go at it full steam. I don't say that because of her work, but because artists live that way.

My great-uncle makes these nifty lamps, they're a fairly simple design, but take more time to make then it looks like. I'll try and snap a photo of one later tonight so you can all see what they look like.

Anyway, he takes one up to the hardware store now and then and has them sell it for him. Being a small town, they have no problem with it, they usually go for about $100, which just about pays for his hardware and time.

You might try that, especially if you live in a smaller town. Ask if they'll sell one on consignment, you might be surprised at how quickly it sells.

definitely looks nice... try going to some local crafts shows. maybe some stuff at some local high schools or elementary schools first. my friends mom has started doing this with her small crafts like ornaments, wreiths, plates, and she has started making some excellent on the side money. of course, her stuff is beautiful. but that is too!!

They look pretty good to me. I'd bet she could sell them. I'd like to see one with like a nautical theme, seagulls, sail boats, waves, and stuff... that'd be cool.

:)
