Mom and Pop computer stores in LA area

I'm looking for a case, actually my sister is looking for a case for a computer I'm building her. So I'm trying to buy from a local store to not get killed on shipping. I've been to Mannhattan Beach Fry's, theres a PC Club near me in Hawthorne, but I haven't gone to any other store really, except for a ghetto in in Hawthorne that was charging 600 bucks for a Celeron box. CompUSA had some, but the prices were a little high.

I know there's alot of LA people on here, so any help would be appreciated. Is there another publication like MicroTimes? They went out of business, and I don't know if there is another mag like them. I'm near LAX, so anything close to me would be ideal.

'round here compusa sells an alienware case w/ 3 fans for only $100 (or so).

Go to the computer show in Buena Park this coming weekend (11/17 & 18).

Computer shows have the best prices on PC cases. PCClub also has good prices.

I don't live too far from you and I do plenty of computer shopping. PC Club has good prices and a good selection, all of their motherboards are either MSI or DFI -- both quality boards. You really can't go wrong with their components in systems, because they use the same parts I use to build my own boxes.

Microtimes is out of business? I haven't heard that at all. There are numerous places to go in Torrance and a few in West LA as well, so there definitely is some selection for you.

i wouldn't mind driving to mwave... saves me shipping on a case... although i don't think they carry Antec.

good call on the show Dan. I might go and check it out. Probably be the best place to get her one. I'll bring her along too. She want's a "cool case" but she doesn't want to drop more than say 90 bucks on one. She's 16...so it's ok.
