Ok, my mom is just like yours and everybody elses. I just need some generic gift. Some crystal nic-nak will probably do just fine, or one of those played out bath & body work baskets. She'll be happy with anything, so whatever.
My dad's the type to tell you he doesn't like his gift, so I've been putting thought into it. I'm thinking maybe a Zeiss scope for his new rifle (he got one of those new high velocity varmit rifles.) He's something of a hot-rodder, so maybe some sort of performance mod for his Jaguar XJR. I've never really read anything about them, so I don't know what kind of mods are available, or if they cost bucu cash or what.
They're both in their late 50s.
