Story in my local paper today. I remeber hearing about this way back when it happened in 1991:

ONEONTA -- A former Hancock woman admitted in open court Wednesday that she and her boyfriend killed her 2-year-old son on Aug. 29, 1991.

For nearly 13 years, Wendy K. Simley kept her terrible secret -- that she hit the toddler in the stomach three times, then left him to die

Link to full story

As I read the details in the article, I kept looking at the pictures of my son on the wall above my display......and wanted to cry. How the $%# can somebody do something like that TO THEIR OWN 2 YEAR OLD SON!!!!!??????? My son (he is 4) sometimes makes me angry and frustrated (what child doesn't?) but KILLING them!!!???

I weep for the human race...............apparently (some of us) have not evolved very far above animals.

Yep - that is pretty much how you say it. I would have phonetically written it as Oh-KNEE-on-ta , but your method sounds about the same ;) I live about an hour from there.

She didn't plan on it. Some people have no control of their anger, which leads to rage. When you're in a rage, you don't have control of your actions. People with rage problems are very dangerous, but there's no way to tell if a person is susceptible to this condition.

I hope she gets the death penalty. We don't need people like that on the planet.

"In essence, she had been off drugs a few days, and basically found God and called the police."

this is why drugs are bad. they are involved in huge percentages of murders.

Bull fvcking sh!t. You always have control of your actions. Every moment is a choice. Losing your temper is not a 'condition.' It's child abuse, and in this case, murder. There is NO excuse for it.

Actually...

Wednesday, the 34-year-old woman pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in Supreme Court chambers in Oneonta, telling the judge how she and boyfriend Kinson Davis planned to kill her son, Cameron Simley, who was found dead in the Village of Hancock apartment they shared.

and

No longer able to cope, she and Davis agreed to kill the boy, Simley told the court.

"I went into his bedroom where he was playing with his toys. I laid him on the bed on his back. I pounded him in the stomach three times," she said.

I'm sick to my stomach :( :|

SOOORRRRRRYYYYY jerk. This wasn't the news story I thought it was. There was a similar story recently where a mom popped and beat her kid to death.

I didn't say anything about defending her. I said that some people get so much rage that they loose control. Some people are susceptible to this and it's a shame there isn't an easy way to tell which people this will happen to.
