I have a computer running a 2gb 5870 which requires a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector unlike the normal 5870 which requires only 2x 6pin.

I dont have the molex connectors to connect 2x molex to the 8 pin. Will this be an issue? The machines fine and runs with the 1x molex to 8 pin. But im concerned about the unconnected molex.

Thanks.

sorry maybe i didnt explain it right. the card has 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin. currently i have a 6 pin going into the card and the card came with an adapter.

the adapter is 2x molex to 8 pin. i only have it connected to 1 molex. so its running 1 molex to 8 pin.

im concerned and wonder if it needs to be connected to 2x molex as the adapter has 2 inputs. its not like a molex splitter or anything.

thanks.

Sorry, for some reason when I responded originally I was reading 2x 8pin on your card. My bad as you explained it fine.

If you don't have 2x 4pin I would suggest splitting the one 4pin with an adapter and then plugging in to all 8 pins of your other adapter. I'm not sure how the 5870 you have is internally configured, but you aren't powering all of the leads the way you have it.
