I absolutely hate molex connectors.
Still can't believe these damn things that were in my first computer I had back in 1991 are in the computer I just built in 2011.
I recently cracked the PCB on my graphics card(still works somehow...) and sliced my had open trying to take these connectors apart.

But this isn't just to rage, what I'm wondering is if anyone has ever come across anything to replace molex.
Like, something where I can plug different connectors into the molex and then plug those into each other; or even just cut off the molex and put different ones on.

You can avoid using them by buying modular PSUs (though some will have a strand hard-wired) and using only SATA drives and 3-pin or 4-pin PWM fans. A modern computer does not need peripheral connectors. Molex™ is a trademarked company name.

Ya I was about to say, the only molex connectors I use are fans and those are the voltage based ones. It seems weird you are even dealing with a lot of them anymore. All my hd/opticals have been sata since like over 2 years ago.

Molex makes a wide variety of connectors, including SATA connectors.

I hate Molex connectors as well, and unfortunately, one or two good accessories insist on being powered by them (say, a fan controller or watercooling pump).

Tuna! WOW! I never really gave those connectors much thought but I have on occasion had trouble connecting them to drives etc. so I guess I feel your pain. When I built the system I have now I went all SATA. Two DVDRW drives, one HDD plus an external eSata HDD for storage and B/U's. I can say this is the way to go and with a moduler PSU, you can leave those nasty molex's in the box!
