dude - they're everywhere Yeah - I see a dermitologist regularly to have them checked out - it sucks.

It's not like they're all big or anything - just little moles everywhere - I can count over 20 on my left arm alone

Yep - just little moles the size of a pinhead - def not freckles since they're raised and much darker...

Always had them since I was a kid - must be genetic, because my dad has them too, and the rest of his family...although - the freckles are mostly from a bad sunburn when I was a teen (fell asleep on a hammock for 5 hours in the sun when I lived in Panama )

I have a lot of moles too. Moles don't have to be raised for them to be moles, moles just are developed in the dermis (that's the second layer of skin, right?) where freckles are developed in the epidermis (the first layer of skin).

Most people have around 30 moles on their body. Other people have upwards of 500. It's just genetics.

If you're the former and have an atypical mole, I'd seriously have it checked out. If you're of the latter and have an atypical mole, I'd have it checked out but the chances of it being malignant compared to someone with a small amount of moles are slim to none.

If you're bothered with a mole, you can get them taken off, but unless you have them dig into the dermis to pull out the root, they can grow back. Getting rid of flat moles is harder, you can use one of those plastic surgery lasers but there is no chance that the mole won't come back. Usually if it comes back, it is usually darker and more apparant than the previous one.
