My bad luck continues.
While at work, I tried to take a photo today. It had been awhile since I used the phone as a camera, and I imediately noticed a distinct haze. Figuring it was a finger print, I looked at the lens, only to discover condensation all over the interior of it.
It has never been wet. It has never had anything spill near it. It has been in my pocket, sweaty hands, and in my hand while in fog. The moisture sensor (which is conveniently located right next to the camera lens) has been tripped.
What can I do to remove the moisture from the lens?
I have insurance, but I'm assuming that because the sensor has been tripped there is nothing I can do about returning it. Besides, I really don't want to get rid of the AMOLED screen, unless I've missed hearing that they're back to using them again.
While inspecting the camera, I noticed that the housing doesn't create a very tight seal around the red lens area. No only that, but the holes for the LED flash are open enough to let any kind of condensation in the air into the device. Figures that the sensor would be right there too... wondering if just breathing on it too hard would set that thing off.
The lens area has holes allowing anything to pass into the internals as well... which I definitely think is a poor design.
So is there anything I can do, or am I completely SOL?
EDIT: Ok, what the hell. It's been sitting here with the lens completely covered by condensation, and as I'm typing it's actually going away. Leaving it in my pocket while typing this post the condensation has been cut down in half...
