Man, this game really pushes the envelope. On my P4 2.4 GHZ, GF4, system with 512MB ram i'm still gettin in the low 20's at times. Granted i am running at 1280X1024, 2X FSAA, and everything enabled except shadows set to simple, with vsync on. Still, awesome game visually and it really puts you into the game. Loving this game. Best $20 i ever spent!

Yes, I agree, I get the same same FPS drop in certain places whether I am using 640x480 or 1600x1200! And this is with a Ti4600.

Me too. Certain maps like Omaha, when there are a lot of players my FPS dips to like 15 :( Of course that was with my Radeon LE. I just got a 8500LE and we shall see how much that improves :)

MOHAA was a fun game. If you think it's a system hog you should try SOF2. That game is sooo slow!

MOHAA is a real system pig. But the game is much like other Quake3 based games. The performance hit is nasty in some area, which seem quite unreasonable. There are areas of MOHAA that run at near the same performance between 1024x768 or 640x480. All Quake3 games are like this and I can't figure out why. Quake2 scaled much better, ihmo, Half-Life played a bit slow with hardware 3 years ago, but look at how much it screams now.

well CS is actually running slower with the new updates than it used to. It's still blazing fast, but with smoke it really bogs down.

shadows set to simple
Turn the shadows completely off and it'll make a difference in speed.

with vsync on
Uh, you definitely want that turned off and in fact that is probably the cause of a lot of your slowdowns.

I run at 1600 x 1200 x 32 with all game settings maxed except shadows, which are disabled. Even in the heaviest areas my system usually stays above 30 FPS at all times.

I don't use FSAA though.

FSAA really makes a difference in this game though, even at 1600X1200. Vsync off looks TERRIBLE, for someone who regards IQ as being of utmost importance i find it hard to belive that you can play with vsync off. I mean the wall tearing is unbearable for me in this game. Maybe i'm just more picky when it comes to my IQ in games.
