MOHAA Crashes after splash screen

just got the game, and I'm running it on a 9800pro with an amp,e power supply, a athlon 3000+ cpu, and a gig of RAM. don't know what is up. I install it and then get the splash screen when i click on the icon on my desktop. It brings up the splash screen and then crashes back to my desktop.... i dunno what's up. Can anyone help? I believe I have the newest drivers for the video card.

This appears to be a game problem when it parses an OpenGL extension string too long for its buffer to store. You'll either need to use an older ATi OpenGL driver (just copy the DLL to the same level as the application) or wait until ATi implements an application specific work-around.

Interestingly MOHAA works for me but Spearhead/Breakthrough don't. Have you patched the game to 1.11?

just ran the patch and it still crashes after the spash screen.... any more suggestions?
