What do you think of them? I think that they are great games in their "species" but with no realism at all and that is what is f*****g in the game...imagine, how could only one man destroy four tanks and kill dozends of axies in the front line and make his way through Berlin all by himself (Spearhead)? Team mates are so stupid as can be (retreat when one enemy soldiers gets one meter over the defence line and the enemies can hit almost with every shot when you sometimes have to put over 5 to kill one......realism would be appreciated around here =)

If you want realism, go play Battlefield 1942.

If you want an arcadic, cartoonish (compared to BF1942) war based game, then sure, go for MOH:AA.

I got MOH:AA when it came out, and I liked it...until BF1942 came out, then I saw that it was much better, and I now cannot stand to go back to MOH:AA, as it's just not realistic enough for me.

I loved MOHAA and Spearhead. The Omaha Beach mission was as close as I ever got to a real war.

I tried Battlefield, but it was just not my thing and they key configurations were a pain to set up.

ummmmmm....ITS A FVCKING GAME!

you want realism? join the military and then come back and complain about lack of realism.

Wow, are you writing this from across the Iraqi border?
He asked an innocent question. He may be too young for military or just not interested in it. There is nothing wrong with asking for a realistic game. People also play racing game without having to become a professional race car driver.

excuse my short fuse this morning..it struck a nerve with everything that's going on in regards to Iraq.

I've got too many friends and family over there right now, to want to listen to some kid complain that his WWII shooter is not real enough.
I've edited my previous post.

Try Operation Flashpoint and the expansion packs for a sorta, quasi realistic military simulator.

The GotY edition should be out in stores now.

MOHAA is one of the best games I've ever played and Spearhead, while too short, is still extremely good.

but with no realism at all and that is what is f*****g in the game
Realism would be no saving/loading, one bullet to die and never being able to play the game again after you died. Tell me, how many people do you think would like a game like that?

Games are supposed to be fun, not necessarily 100% realistic.

...imagine, how could only one man destroy four tanks
With artillery or heavy weapons.

and kill dozends of axies in the front line
What's so hard to believe about that? A well concealed sniper or a defensive machine gun nest could make a lot of kills, even in real life.

and make his way through Berlin all by himself (Spearhead)?
He didn't make it through Berlin by himself, it was just one tiny suburb consisting of a few blocks. Also by that stage the whole city was almost totally under Allied control anyway and you can see this right at the start with the Russian soldiers milling around the area. Basically all you were up against were pockets of German resistance.

Sometimes when you play games you have to read between the lines a little.

Heh, basically what I was going to say.
To each his own. If I am playing a game, I want to be entertained. Military realism, actually would be pretty boring as most of your time is spent out of the action. I didn't care for BF1942, nor did I care for Ghost Recon as I found recon too realistic in that you would hike accross the terrain for 10 minutes then get picked off by a sniper, realistic, maybe, entertaining (IMHO), no.

My son and I greatly enjoyed MOHAA and Spearhead(though too short).

If you really want more 'realism' for MOH:AA or Spearhead in MP atleast, try playing with a realism mod or turn it on in Spearhead. You die quick like in BF'42, to quick for me to be able to enjoy playing.

How long did it take you guys to finish Spearhead that say it's too short? I've been playing the single player off and on since it came out and it's not that easy...or maybe I suck :) On more then 1 level I've had my ___ handed to me over and over again which in it's self takes hours to get through.

Probably around 3-4 hours over two sessions, and I really took my time to thoroughly explore everything.

Normally it can easily be done in one afternoon (one sitting).

I hear ya. I wonder if the people who finish these games so quickly take the time to actually enjoy it.

There is no disputing the fact that MOH Spearhead is SHORT, by any game standards.

I still maintain that MOHAA is the best single player FPS game out there... it's only problem comes from all the scripted sequences.
