has anyone seen this error before? I've tried copying DX9 files over etc, and nothing. It's getting frustrating because I'd really like to play this game before it completely dies off.

This is a fresh install of W7 Ultimate.

Have you installed the DirectX 9c(I think) run time? Go to MS's site, and make sure you have the latest. I know Vista didn't ship with the latest, and I don't think Win7 did either.

DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already.

🙁

Is that the new Medal of Honor game just released? I'm currently playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. I do believe I was prompted to install DirectX 9c during the install and clicked OK. I was pleasantly surprised when the game played fine without having to use compatibility mode. Have a look on the game CD/DVD for a directX folder, if you find one run the setup file in that folder and try playing your game again.
