the reason im split between the two is that 1) i trust both companies, but the OCZ is modular and wires are nicely sleeved, which the Antec has more connectors... so thats basically what im split about

I only have experience with the 680W version. It looks good, but w/o reviews it's a bit risky.
The TT 680W is superb.

You can easily tie excess wires to various internal parts of your case to enhance the airflow in your case,

and neaten up the appearance, and besides, I've had good experience using Antec PSUs,

so I'd recommend the Antec Truepower II 550W -- it's also as quiet as the Neopower 480W to boot.

the ocz by far, search for how mnay threads have an under achieving antec 550watt, alot...compared to ANY ocz, which has none, i have the 520 watt powerstream and it handles a 3500+, 6800ultra, gig of ram, 2 raptors and a dvd burner madly o/cd no problem...

I have a Modstream 450 and an Antec True Power 480 both. Both powersupplies offer beefy rock solid 12v rails and I have had absolutely no problems out of either PSU.

The difference IMO comes from the intangibles. The Modstream is beautiful. The Antec is plain. The Modstream has modular cables on it so I only have to use what I need. The Antec has a large bundle of cables tie-wrapped to the top of my case. The Modstream cables are sleeved in UV reflective braid. The Antec cables are unsleeved. The Antec has dual 80mm fans (relatively quiet as 80mm fans go). The Modstream has a single 120mm fan (quieter than Antec dual fans).

My advice, buy the Modstream. You will not be disappointed.

The OCZ by far also i believe. Ive had both also (an older antec granted) i right now have the 520w modstream running an fx-55 watercooled OC'ed to 3000mgz and two 6800ultra SLI, plus four raptorz in a raid array. Rock solid rails and no problmes at all. Plus with looks and the modular wires, no contest at all. There was a rumor about the rails not being quite solid as the power stream bit i find little truth behind it as the review failed to mention that the difference was so slight youd have to be trying to get 600w out of it and then you might notice :p

i don't think you can go wrong with either. i have the tpII and love it. i'd get the powerstream over the mod if i went ocz.

I would go with the Antec of those two. Hands down a much better PSU. The modular design of that OCZ is pure cosmetic, they are garbage PSU's. If you wanted OCZ, only choose from their Powerstream series. I wouldn't get either and go with the best deal out there right now. Monarch has the Enermax Whisper II 535w for only $89 + shipping. It absolutely cannot be beat unless you plan to drop $100 more. I would put the Enermax up against any other PSU mentioned here, bottom line.

I don't know what these haters are saying, OCZ makes top notch PSUs. Also, if you have a problem with it, OCZ replaces it (3 year warranty), and you don't need a receipt.

The cable management of a modular power supply is awesome too, so I recommend the OCZ - UNLESS - you are on say, a DFI board, and are using a 6800 or x800 series PCI-E graphics card or better, or are pumping a ton of voltage into your RAM. These pursuits suck power, so you will want a 24pin ATX2 power cord, which the OCZ does not have. If this is the case, shell out for the Antec Neopower 480. Both companies make awesome PSUs though.

The modstream does have a 20 pin ATX cable but it has a cable (hardwired to the PSU) that will connect with the ATX connector and give you the extra 4 pins, the modstream is ATX2.0 compatible
