I saw that you locked a thread in hot deals with a message that it was not a hot deal. The thread was a reference to a previous thread that had been a hot deal. A TDK 12X CD-R drive from NECX. Those of us who ordered thought we were getting a $50 rebate. The poster of the new thread provided information that NECX was not a participating dealer and the rebate is not valid for our purchases.
You locked the thread and said it should be put in Brag and Moan. I respectfully disagree. Most of us who read the Hot Deals forum probably don't read the brag and moan topic (I don't). I would have not known the rebate is invalid if the poster hadn't posted his thread. I saw his post before I opened the package and therefore I can return the drive. If the thread had not been posted as it was, I would never have known it. I think you should allow such threads that refer to hot deals - even if the deal has gone sour. How else would hot deal forum readers find out about such problem? Please consider this suggestion for future posts. Thanks.
