Mods please look at this post because I have stolen another members name

I hope that my title has got you attention. The fact of the matter is that last night just before the forums went down, I was having trouble logging in and kept getting messages indicating that my username was no longer valid. I suspected that perhaps all member info had been lost and in an attempt to verify my hunch, I tried to create a new user id and account. I purposely chose the name of another anandtech member to see if it would let me create a new account. I honestly didn't think it would work but it did. Previously I was the user therealchewbacca with the email address stephenwassom@home.com . Now I am chewbacca with the email address stephenwassom@home.com . The other anandtech user who had the nickname chewbacca is now unable to log in because I have his nickname. I can actually log in to anandtech using either username. Believe me I had no intention of stealing another members name and am just trying to get it all fixed. Please help.

i think the situation has been fixed. I logged out as chewbacca and logged back in as therealchewbacca, and am no longer able to log back in as chewbacca. I just hope that chewbacca can log in ok.

Yeah, I did the same thing, but with my own handle. When I saw the database was gone I re-registered "Russ", and it let me, and sent a new password. When they restored from backup, it simply reverted to the old password, so I'm sure the other chewbacca will be able to log in just fine.
