Mods: how about a "Mod Alert" email or PM?

Well, there are times that we might want to jump over here and "talk about" a problem. And then there are times that someone's behavior doesn't need talk, it needs Mod intervention. So, we should be able to send a message directly. That would be simple.

For example, there is one guy over in *this*thread* who is behaving and talking like a racist. Or, should we just sit and talk about it?

Send a Private Message to AnandTech Moderator. That is what I always do.

I've seen forums with an "Alert a mod" button. Maybe they could do that. As many questions as I've seen about how to contact a mod, perhaps this might solve that as well.

That's what I do too. Some people just post it here. I guess they like to have their name "up in lights".
;)

That's what I do too if something needs immediate attention.

FWIW, I do strive to be a little more polite with the language I use in addressing a Mod, and thus far they've been polite in replying as well. :)

I agree networkman, every dealing I have had w/ a Mod has been handled in a professional manner.

Like you haven't posted here. :D

Anyway, the moderators have already expressed no preference for being PM'd or the topic posted here. As usual, expect a "lag" time from the time your communication is sent to the Mod to their taking action. The amount of time to respond depends on how "busy" the mod is and his view of the situation's urgency. Sometimes there is no mod response in which case, you can try doing a post here (if you PM'd, or vice versa).
