So this stupid patch that does almost nothing just got rid of my nice extra shortcut bars from Telo (the same guy who makes stuff that goes into Cosmos). Anyone know if there are new releases of any bars compatible with, what is this patch, 2.1?

Everytime a patch comes out they have to update the mods and everyone has to re-download? Blah! :frown:

Discovered last nite that ctmod stopped working. Went to the ctmod website and it was confirmed that the patch buggered it up. They put another one out there and now it works. Howerver, I still got a strange message that I never got before....while I was fighting mobs, something about 'too many hotkeys in use'.....something like that. Basically ctmod gives you all the key slots that you could possibly want. Anyway I switched to a hot key configuration that was somewhat scaled down and now I don't get the message. I guess these interface add ons are still works in progress. One thing is for sure....one active row of keys is not enough for my warlock!

Hm... WoW wouldn't even load for me until I deleted the interface folder. I was using cosmos. There is a new version out there now.

This is going to happen after every update from blizzard. UI mods are required to target a specific version of WoW (at least according to the walkthroughs on the WoW site). It makes sense to me, because the API and/or interface could change in a patch.

Check the Interface Mods forum at the official website. There's a bunch of threads on the various broken mods and how to fix them.

i'll check that one out. Is it ONLY extra buttons? Don't need nor want anything else at all.

CTmod also gives you a buff timer (very convenient), lets you write on your in game maps (also very convenient), and mana/health regeneration rate (meh). Other than that, I think all it does is give you extra buttons. You can add a vertical row on the left and right boarders and two extra bars above your hot keys. You can turn off or on any of the extra bars, buff timer and regen info. It's a nice, tight addon.....not bloatware.

Cosmos is probably 30% bloatware and 70% useful. I don't know other features of CTMod, but having had to play w/o Cosmos last night, I sorely missed:

1) Quest minion - mostly for the quest level info and message upon completing a quest
2) DPS tracker
3) Sidebar and hotbar buttons (same thing as the buttons above)
4) Fishing helper (right click to cast)
5) Clock
6) Map notes
7) Increased quest text speed

Any time they patch you have to wait for Cosmos and the tools to be updated..
this is why i use ONLY cosmos becasue it does it automatically and Thott and company are very fast with updates

I hand-edited all the .toc files to get Cosmos to load again, but it was all screwed up. The buff timers were causing multiple icons to start overlaying each other, there was a hotbar that was covering the chat window I couldn't get rid of, if I was in a party the DPS party mod was throwing error messages up constantly, if you brought up the options window you couldn't click Ok or Cancel, etc., etc. It was still better than trying to play without it.

I used Cosmos and found the only thing I was interested in was the single extra toolbar along the bottom. Didn't need any of the other features at all

Oh and I just edited the interface line in the .toc file to 4114 and my bar is back! :D

I use 75% of whats in Cosmos..
Quest minion is the bomb..
dedicated weapon bar for posioning and swicthing weps without opening paperdoll..
Rogue helper for a better combo point indicator
6 extra bars total
Quest sharing is WAY better with cosmos for anyone else in your group that is using it..
you can see exactly what step or hoy many things your cosmos using groupmates need as well as your own..
time is very nice
the being able to micromanage every little appearence of your bars and interface with cosmos rocks..
remove the hotbars artwork and make all the bars transparent = very neat...

every night a new alpha build no waiting after patches..

catch links from www.thottbot.com to cosmos it aslo will auto upload your char data to thottbot like the old magelo did in EQ

There are actually a lot of hidden stuff in the "Wow client update"

not just the removal of time zones.

for example, hunter's pet now requires more food.

Really? Is there a detailed patch description file? Maybe details from the patch complete window eh?

There is a UI Customization forum where you can find new updates to mods and stuff. I'm currently using CTMod, which is updated for the patch.

Blizzard doesn't officially say anything other than the time zone server choices are now removed.
