i need a new power supply in my rack mount enlight case. right now there is a hotswap 350watt enlight unit. a regular atx supply will work but...

the airflow needs to be in from the front ( where the power plug is now)
i need to re-wire the power plug to the back.

rewiring the plug is easy. the airflow thing i am concerned about though. also, the case is a 3U so there is not a lot of room ontop of or below the supply. i think i need to stick with an 80mm fan or 80 + 120 to keep the cool air coming in the front of the case.

do you have any sugjestions for this? any power supply that you think will work well in this config? i would like something around 400 watts, most calculators put my system at around 250 to 300 watts of power consumption. the other requirment, and the second reason i am doing this is to make it quieter. the enlight modules have little fans that spin very fast, one of them even rattles. plus a 10krpm fan in the unit that the hotswap modules slide into.

thanks!

I've used some of those 3U Enlight cases.

If you're comfortable with violating the warranty, then just simply get the PSU you want and reverse the exhaust fan. I'd suggest a good but cheaper unit with 80mm fan, for instance an Antec Earthwatts (find one on sale or with rebate). The Earthwatts is cheap enough and uses an 80mm fan. Plus, it runs cool enough that it should be okay even if airflow isn't optimal.
