modifying logitech z-560 control thingie

I dunno if this is highly technical or not, but for those that own logitech z-560 speakers... on the little box that has all the adjustments and volume, when you plug in headphones, it will automatically cut off the speakers........... is there a way I can modify this so when I plug in headphones, the speakers still will sound??? Basically I dont like plugging and unplugging my headphones all the time, and you can always control whether the speakers are on or off by using the power button.... is this possible, it seems like it would be a relatively simple thing to do.

Sure!

The headphone socket has a "finger" that touches another part of the socket when no plug is inserted. When you plug in your headphones, it physically pushes this figer away so it doesn't touch the other part of the socket and the circuit is broken.

You can go to radio shack and buy a socket that doesn't have this finger.

Or rewire the wire on this finger and solder it straight to the other part of the jack.

The screws may be hidden. Look under stickers, rubber feet, etc. Or it could snap together, so you would need pry it apart.
