modify keyboard ps2 to usb

I have a keyboard A4Tech, with PS2, i don't want to change it, and i want to know if it's possible to modify the interface. Could i cut the cable, remove the PS2 jack, and replace it with USB interface ?
Would that work, guys ?

why not buy ps/2 to usb convertor? $10 too much?

It only works if the keyboard has the required controller. USB and PS/2 are not naturally compatible, the adapters are passive, and all the logic is in the keyboard.

I suppose the pinout is always te same, so you should be able to find that and just replace the connector.
