Modified hosts file whacks wireless upon reboot

This is strange. If I change to a modified hosts file, my wireless connection keeps working, BUT thereafter when booting up, it says "wireless network interface disabled".

If I put back original hosts file, machine boots with wireless working.

Original file uses
127.0.0.1 localhost

modified file uses (among other things)
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost

Thanks. That's a nice looking hosts file and when things are working again I may start using it.
It won't work now though :-(
I'm wondering if since the wireless card's log-in is automatically tied to Windows log-in, that perhaps when the card's driver was installed it associated to the original hosts file, as a security function.
