Has anybody else noticed that the gun sounds in MW3 tend to overpower everything else going on?

They probably tried to make it more "in your face"

"gee guys, I know, let's make the gun sounds 20% louder in relation to everything else than they were in previous Modern Warfare games!"

It just kills me that while waiting in the menu, I can *baaaarely* hear the faintest music in the background. I literally have to turn my TV up to the max volume to be able to hear the background/ambient sounds in detail, but then of course the guns are like *RAHHH BANG BANG BANG BANG*

just makes the game all the more annoying to play... especially cause there is no fine-tune audio settings, just one single "Game Volume" slider, which is just an overall volume slider, like the one on the TV

what is the point of that? derp, my tv has a volume control for that. they should have put sliders for "Music Volume" "Voice Volume" etc...

never played mw3 but that is pretty lame. you sure there isn't any sound option for surround sound either that you may have on?

OP, have you ever fired a gun? They are more than 20% louder than pretty much everything else.

Get black ops 2 then. It has separate volume sliders for game sound and music.

I personally don't like music playing during the game as it makes it harder for me to hear the enemy.

What does being civilized have to do with firing a gun? Can soldiers not be civilized? Can cops not be civilized? Can someone who hunts not be civilized?

No i have never fired a gun i am a civilized man

Civilians are protected by someone with a firearm. Either yourself, or another civilian who makes it his job.

Anyway...yeah gunshots are loud but some of the gunfire is overly so. Certain firearms are quieter than others too but I never noticed this accounted for in gameplay unless it's supposed to be a "silenced weapon" which should really say "Suppressed"
