Her husband is Prince Philip. He's not a king.

I'm pretty sure a king's wife is known as the queen, but if a queen is the head of state apparantly her husband is just a prince. I guess king > queen > prince just like in cards, so the queen's husband can't be higher than her... or something... I have no idea.

I'm sure it's related to the blood lines. That's why we'll have King Charles or whatever once Elizabeth dies.

AFAIK Philip is only in the royal family by marriage, so he's just a prince.

In order to be King of England you need to be able to trace your bloodline back through many generations of inbreeding.

It's true. No shyt.

The last king was QE II's father. He died, IIRC. Phillip is the royal consort so that no one thinks he's actually in line to succeed his wife. They learned that trick the hard way, those Brits. ;)

The current "Royal Family" of England is called the "House of Windsor", but had actually changed their name (from the German: "Hapsburg") to "Windsor", following the disaster of WW I. So, the current Queen of England, Elizabeth II, is more of German lineage than English.
Princess Diana was from the House of Stewart, and some believe the House of Stewart has a more legitimate claim to the English throne. There is some belief that Prince Charles may never become King, but (if they decide to skip Charles because he got a divorce) defer to his son, Prince William.

In December of 1936 King Edward VIII of Great Britain was forced,
by elements in the British government, to give up his throne because
he intended to marry American divorcee Wallis Warfield Simpson.
They were married six months later.

It was unknown to the world that Edward and Wallis had had a child in
June of 1934, and that child was taken from them.

ummm... no.

Victoria's son, Edward VII, became the first monarch of the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in 1901. However, in 1917, the next monarch, George V, replaced "Saxe-Coburg-Gotha" with "Windsor" due to the anti-German sympathies aroused by the First World War.

ummm... no.

Spencer family
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

There are, of course, many Spencer families, comprising all individuals with the surname Spencer. However, this article will discuss the Spencer family descended in the male line from a certain Henry Spencer (died c. 1478), male-line ancestor of the Dukes of Marlborough, Earls of Sunderland, and Earls Spencer.
[edit]

Members of the family

* George Spencer (Fr.Ignatius of St Paul, Passionist) 1799-1864]
* Diana, Princess of Wales (1961 - 1997) (formerly Lady Diana Spencer)
* Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire

Was it the Brahan Seer that said that the Stuarts would regain the throne? That would be true, if William or Harry becomes king. Hmmmmm....interesting...
