Do you like modern jazz? Such as Brad Mehldau or The Bad Plus?

I think their covers of other popular songs are pretty cool, on top of their own work.

Brad Mehldau covers Radiohead and a few other bands.

Does anyone have any other good bands?

I wouldn't call it Jazz, but I kinda like Morcheeba when I'm in a Radiohead kinda mood.

If you want some interesting stuff, look into the Verve Remixed Volume 1. It's a modern tribute to classical jazz recordings, and actually does a good job of preserving the original music without butchering it in cheesy electronic sampling.

Steer clear of Vols. 2+ though, they fall into the latter category.

Uhh.... morcheeba is nothing like brad mehldau or the bad plus. Brad and the bad plus are both instruments.... drums, pianos and strings, no techno.

I guess you said you wouldn't call it jazz... but I'm looking for similar types of music, I don't care if it's not covers of a popular band.
