Several months ago my boss approached me and asked if I knew anyway to get rid of an extra 10,000ft of CAT5 they had that was left over from a job. Seeing the opportunity to do something for society, I asked the AT moderators if I could make this cable into custom lengths and sell it with the sole purpose of giving 100% of the money to the Salvation Army. I was given express permission to do so.
I went to my boss and purchased this 10,000ft of CAT5 and began making cables. To date, I've donated over $700 to the Red Cross and Salvation Army. I even went grocery shopping with two Salvation Army employees and bought Christmas dinner for 7 families that could not afford to have a good Christmas dinner.
Seeing that the cable sales were picking up, I purchased 1500 CAT5 ends and snagless boots so that I didn't have to keep re-ordering. So for the last three or four months I've been making cable and making weekly contributions to the Salvation Army. Everything was going good...until Thursday. I come home from work and load up my thread to see it locked. Fearing the worst, I PMed the moderators and asked very kindly if they would please tell me why my thread was locked. They mustered the energy to say "Dealer." and nothing more.
By this time I'm flaming pissed off. :| I've spent $500 on cable and $320 on ends and boots to make cables that I'm getting zero profit on. Even still, I show no signs of anger and reply in a very polite manner. I tell the moderators that I was given express permission to do so and explain how I am not a "Dealer.".
Here's what they had to say...
"Anandtech's For Sale Forum is not here for the purpose of anybody to make money, either for themselves or a charity. What you do with the extra parts you have is of noi concern to us.
End of Story, Subject is closed!!!"
I might as well bend over and take it up the tailpipe, but I thought I would vent some steam. If you can help in any way, please don't hessitate to PM or email me. Thanks for reading. Suggestions are always welcome.

Let me consult with the other Generous MOD and find out who gave you permission. We will give you an update soon.
