You're talking about "Shotgun" technology, which requires two phone lines, two modems, and your ISP to allow concurrent logins. I'd say with 100 modems you'd run out of PCI slots / space for external modems, and for the cost of 100 phone lines you could afford a fractional T1 :)

Its called "Shotgun" (I believe).

You need:

2 modems
2 phone lines
An ISP that supports multiple connections from the same user.

If you have that, it will work.

those are called dual modems (or atleast I call them that). basically, you need two phone lines and a company that supports it the dual modem.

That would work but it would cost a whole load of cash. I personally don't see the point in shotgun because with the money you spend to double your speed, you could spend half that to get cable modem/DSL and 10x that speed.

No. Because,

a) You will have to pay for 500 phone lines
b) Your ISP will have to have 500 + nodes in your area
c) Your ISP will have to, by pure dumb luck, not notice that you're connecting 500 times with the same login name
d) You will need a motherboard with 500 PCI slots
e) The bandwidth will just not work out to 500k/sec no matter how hard you try.
