sorry for the stupid question guys,... just got done finishing up my unlces system.. and i have a Diamond Supra Max Modem Installed.. the thing is....the driver disc is no help...

98 has no clue where and which driver to use...even if i point it to the disc...i have downloaded some new drivers from the site but still SOL... its this modem right here......................

that's the newer version... i need some help 🙂

edit...

must have took a surge when my Harddrive went...

If it's a hardware modem, just use the generic drivers built into Windows 98. I shudder at both a dial-up modem and Win9x. 😛

tell me about it,,, nope.. its not a hardware.. and 98 can't read directly from a PCI device right?

I love my DSL..

I'm downloading some different drivers off there site.. .

their CD... is HORRIBLE...:|

still stuck.. i know a few people have had this modem..

i remeber last summer it was running for about $27.00 on newegg and Mwave.. 😛

Did windows see the modem on bootup?? If that is when it asks for the drivers do a dir on the cd that has the drivers on it and see if you find the right driver. The disk probably has so much other junk on it that it cannot find it. If this does not work just cancel the install and go into the install new hardware and you should be able to get it installed from there. I have installed a lot of these modems and they sometimes are hard to get going, also check the hardware manager and delete all modems that are installed there.

www.diamondmm.com

I have the same modem. I don't remember which driver I have. There's also instructions to find out which driver you should use. There's 3 variations to the Supramax.

each are different but mine

when prompted by green driver disk point it to the disk highlight browser and enter it will load drivers

if it is the black screen one then it is different
go to add new hardware then select (not find it yourself) point it to cdrom and it should find it self

if that doesn't work for the second one then try

my computer/system/device manager/modem/driver/update/find new drivers point to cdrom with disc

hope this helps

nope ... sundogg... NOTHING...i extracted to the desktop even... let it search from the new hardware. AND device manager...

the CD is a piece of trash...

Wolf... tell you the truth i don't know which exact version of the modem it is...

i have installed this driver a few times on other machines... just can't do it this time

i have it but cant send it but what i do

find a local computer shop mom and pop and ask them for a cdrom of the drivers as they will have this at least everyone ive been to has and they usually don't charge if you take them a cdr disk

hope this helps
