Modem throughput is in the recycle bin with KA7..help!!!!!

I once read that some people were experiencing problems with their external modems on the KA7 COMM ports...I, too, am having problems...my throughput when d/l'ing runs between 800Kps and 1.5KPS...nothing more, sometimes less =) On my old system, I would stay right around 5+KPS and was very consistent! Since installing the new upgrades, it sucks....

I am using an external 3Com/USR modem...have the latest drivers for it, the newest 4in1 Via drivers, etc, etc....

Any and all suggestions are welcomed!
