I have a Diamond SupraExpress internal Sp v.90. Ever since I installed this, my rate never gets any better than 34000. Obviously I would like to get better rates and am searching for help in doing so.

I got this modem because it was relatively stable and not succeptable to line noise. After having the phone company check my lines and eliminate noise, I still cannot get better rates.

For those of you that have this modem, is there any tweaking that can be done to squeeze out better performance. Or are there other options that may be better (different modem perhaps?)

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The speed is negotiated at the time of the dial-up. Often it depends on the type of modems that your ISP uses. V.90 the standard but different manufacturers implement the standard a little differently. Just cause the phone company says they cleaned up the lines doesn't mean that yout line is good. Distance from the local POP will degrade performance. If you know someone with a system that gets higher connect speeds suggest taking you r rig to them and trying on their line. In the advanced properties settings you can turn on the modem log, could be that you'll find something there.
