Modem question

Platypus

Lifer

Ok, I work at this place installing components for machines, and today I got an old pentium compaq box, with these kind of slots:

"[======] [============================]"

And the PCI modem he wants installed looks like this:

"[======] [=====================] [======]"

If that makes sense.

It fits in, and I havent tested it yet, but I was wondering if it would work or not.
The mobo has a PCI slot with 2 seperations, and the PCI modem has 3 seperations, but it fits ....

Any words of wisdom?

This was also posted in Perhipials, but you guys are quick

You might want to check into the hardware forums. Most of the pci modems need processor power to work, if the machine is slow it might be to much of a drain on the processor to work properly.

Good Luck
