Modem problems with a new v.92 modem.

I just installed my new creative labs v.92 pci modem and sometimes when i go to dial it will like freeze my whole computer then i wait like 10 seconds and it unfreezes, but my modem won't respond anymore and it'll leave to port open, so i have to restart just to redial and sometimes that doesn't even work, plz help me.

did you completely un-install the old modem from device manager before installing this one? Do you have the latest drivers for the modem?

What OS are you using?
Try going into the Device manager to see if any conflictions are happening over there.


Also, try using Phone Dialer and just try calling your cell phone or another buddy just to see if that works. Just trying to see what works and what doesn't.

no conflicts with anything
i have a yellow circle with an exmaltion point in it beside my PS/2 mouse port but thats always been there since i don't use anything but a usb mouse.
