Modem problem, please help... no modem icon in the control panel

Hi, this one is under Win 98. I try to use USR Winmodem but when I install the driver, it install the driver but after that it gives me the error modem.cpl. after that the modem icon disspaear. does anybody know what's wrong with it? thanks
