Modem not working...

I have a second computer running windows 98 SE, and i tried to hook it up to NetZero using my phone line. I tried 3 different modems, and nothing works. I am starting to think that it has nothing to do with the modems. really need this working soon. The computer is an old HP Packard Bell. Thx.

EDIT: To my knowledge, Packard Bell doesn't like "aftermarket" parts. They are really anal about accepting certain pieces of hardware not manufactored by themselves.

Don't think it'll work.

I was trying to get it to work, because my uncle who is 80yrs old really wanted to get online...all he does all day is stares at the cieling, being treated from cancer too. Really wanted to help him 🙁
