Modem/NIC in one. One port on the modem (internal) connects to the phone line. LAN is connected through the phone line's on the house. Didn't like that. Bought a new NIC. Modem/NIC still screws things up on the computer, even after disableing everthing possible on it. Problem is need tcp/ip on both the modem and the new nic for game play and surfing the web. computer gets confussed.
I know i'm being vague, but this a friend of mine's computer and i haven't actually seen the problem. He's been tell me and i've tried to help.
