Modem/NIC combo cards?

They exist for laptops... Does anybody know of any decent v90/NIC cards out there for desktops? :confused:

same here

funny how that's true though...can't think of a reason, other than that laptops are usually short on expansion slots, so you'd have more drive to combine cards than you would on a desktop

I haven't heard of one either. Brings back the memories of Packard Hell's sound card/modem combos... Why would you want one anyway? Short on PCI slots?

Heh-heh. You could get one of those PCI cards that provides PCMCIA / CardBUS slots for desktop systems -- like the ones they use for Wireless LAN hookups. :D

Nope, not short on slots. I'm building a system. Being hardass about efficiency, it just seems like an obvious product to have on the market. I actually think it's funny that they're not, at least as a consumer product (I've seem them in businesses).
