Modem issues with Windows XP

ok, its 4:34am... gonna make this quick.
I have a Motorola SM56 56k Winmodem. It DOESNT work in Win XP. I tried using Windows 2000 drivers and it just hangs.
I NEED help... I wanna go on the net on my XP side... I also have a XP/2k (dual opperating system)

Can u help me make it work? or recommend a good hardware modem I Could get... or if u have one for sale...pls...
