modem installation problems..

A friend recently gave me a modem blaster pci 56k , modem di5630..

I thought when i would boot up, it would ask for the drivers for the modem
well it asked for drivers for "Unknown Device" and it wouldnt accept any of the drivers. I tried to add my modem but when I told what drivers to use, I got an illegal op. I have the right drivers. any other solutions? add hardware panel wont detect it, and I think i tried everything, i switched it PCI slots and stuff..
lemme know

I assume you are using Windows. Go to control panel/modems and click add new modem. Select have disk and then just type in C: when it asks you for the directory/location of the drivers. Hopefully this will work. The drivers will probably already be on your system. I have had your same problem several times before. For some reason Win 98 Se never sees my modems (I tried three brands). Win ME does not give me the same problems. Good luck

ive tried that
it doesnt detect them
I click add modem right.
it doesnt detect any on C:
so i tell it to the exact directory where the drivers are.
it finds my modem
and when i hit finish to complete the addition, it gives me an illegal op right after i click finish
that sucks
