I thought I would see if anyone has run into this before. I bought a Creative/Digicom DI3635 winmodem and am having very slow downloads with it. It connects in the 49 to 50Kbs range consistently but the download speed seems to be in the 1 to 2 Kbs range.
The two things that got my attention in the modem log is the no error control or data compression.
Installation, downloaded the latest drivers from DSI and used those, I did not use the installation CD at all.
The comm driver is comm.drv 4/23/1999
The use error control and compress data check boxes are checked under advanced properties as is use flow control and hardware.
The old modem's drivers were uninstalled and on reboot the new modem was detected and the new drivers installed.
