Modem/CallerID/missed calls...need guidance

Ok , here's the problem. I want to be able to catch any incoming calls while I'm online. I'm still on dialup and have a modem (Lucent Winmodem) that is CallerID ready. I've been downloading program after program to try and set up what I want. Unfortunately, I think the programs I've downloaded are designed so that you just have a CallerID box on your screen (while offline) so that you don't need to get up and look at the CallerID box. (I don't think these things work while being online).

What I want is to be able to view who is calling me while I'm online. Does anyone have this?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

your right, the caller id only works when offline, its jsut like the caller id box inline with your phone cord, works the same way and displays the it on your monitor for you, jsut like you said, so you dont have to get up to look. However if your looking for aprogram to tell you whos calling when someone calls and YOUR CONNECTED, i had EXCELLENT luck with a service called BuzMe, but it started to get kind of pricey, and you have tohave the service activated on your line and get call forwarding and whatnot, but when we had it it was $5 a month, and worked liek acharm, someone called, it popped up and said this is whos calling, do you want to tell the person youll call em back, do you want to put the person on hold while you finish what your doing, disconnect them... and several other things. i have no idea what the service is like now as this was 2 years ago or more, but, thats a perfect example of what your looking for

it should work. also your isp has to support the v92 standard.
