MODEM BLASTER PROBLEM W/ WIN XP

Ok, I've gotten the most recent drivers and everything, and everytime i try to install this modem blaster di5655 v.90 modem i get the error message "the data is invalid"

what the heck is going on?

kt266a motherboard (soltek sldrv4), amd xp 1700+, winxp...


any help would be greatly appreciated

I've got this modem too, and the only way for me to get it to work under Win98 was to disable Plug-n-Play OS in the BIOS settings. I don't know if it'll help any in XP, but you might try it.

The reason why I had to do this was because if the BIOS thought that Win98 was a Plug-n-Play OS, it wouldn't assign an IRQ to the modem. Win98 wouldn't use the card properly because it didn't have an IRQ assigned, although I guess it was supposed to do the assigning itself.

It could also be an IRQ conflict, or a serial/COM port conflict. With an old ISA modem under XP, it's hard to tell.
