Does anyone here still do any model rocketry? I've been considering getting back into it again. Maybe even doing some very complex planning and building of customized model rockets myself. I even had considered building a detailed fully functioning mockup of the SaturnV rocket used to launch the Apollo missions.
 
I thought about it seriously last year but didn't quite take the plunge. Used to like it as a kid and now that I have the money for engines it made more sense.
 
No, I was real big into it back in the day. Built my own as well as countless kits. My favorite was a kit that went up and took pictures. It took a roll of film ever launch. Good stuff.
 
The model rocketry I like are the guys that build the 10 and 20 foot tall rockets with engines bigger around than your leg! I mean these are the ones that will go up to altitudes of 20-40 miles. They're awesome. That's the kind of rocketry I'd like to get into.
 
I built a lot as a kid...then when i was like 18 i tried to get back into it as a summer project, but ended up watching a lot of tv instead 🙂

it's about 6 years later now and i recently got rid of my rocketry stuff....
 
I was into it pretty big when I was a kid. But the engines suddenly got really expensive. Like from about $0.25 for D's to about $2 each. Don't know what they are now
Pretty cool though.

Yeah I have one but its range is like only 30 miles or so! I use a PS2 as a control mechanism.

Well, you find the microjet engine and I'll build the body and guidance systems. 😀

So what would we use for a warhead? I set let's use paint. Then we'd have the worlds first paintball cruise missle. I'd just p0wn j00 with j00z puny paint ball gunz. 😀
