Mode 3 floppy vs. standard floppy drive?

What are the difference(s) between a standard 1.44 floppy and a Mode 3 floppy drive?

I think I read somewhere that Mode 3 drives are/were generally used in Japan only. Or something like that.

that's pio mode 3 tho, i don't think it's the same thing....

Mode 3 is 1.2 Mb 3.5" disc support, useful in Japan.

Mode 3 is 1.2MB in Japan, and you really don't need to worry about what they are...just stick with a standard 1.44MB floppy and you'll be fine. ;-)
