Modding my Bluetooth headset

Hi.
I just got a new Nokia 6265 phone that plays mp3s. I have some Shure e2c earphones that I like to use. However, to connect any standard headphone/earphone to my phone, I need to buy an adapter. When I got my phone, it came with a bluetooth headset and I am thinking of maybe ripping it apart to add a 3.5mm jack to plug in my headphones. That way, my phone can wirelessly stream the music to my bluetooth headset > my Shures earphones. I realize that the sound will be mono in both ears, but I dont really care since I am only listening to music and not watching movies or something. To be honest, I didnt really want the bluetooth headset and I probably wont find much use for it, so doing this mod would add a purpose to my headset.

However, before I start ripping up my headset, I have a question. When audio is streamed to my bluetooth headset like this, will the audio quality be SIGNIFICANTLY lower than just connecting my earphones to my phone? My bluetooth headset is labelled as EDR (enhanced datarate) compatible.

What do you guys think. Is this a stupid idea or no?
