Modding a GF3 Ti200 ruined my motherboard? Is this possible?

First off, I hope this thread doesn't get moved. I don't know where exactly it belongs.

I will admit that this is the first video card that I've modded, but I was pretty careful. I switched the DISMAL stock HSF out for a TT COrb and Tweakmonster RAMsinks (looks sweet) and something went wrong. Here's everything I did:

1 - Took the nickel bottom off of the COrb and lapped the copper to a mirror finish
2 - Did the same to the Tweakmonsters
3 - Used compressed air to blow all of the little specs out from all the pieces so as to not have any shorts from any small, metal pieces, then rubbed the bottoms with a Q-Tip soaked in isoprobyl alcohol
4 - Sanded the tops of the RAM chips and GPU lightly (with 600 and 1500 grit sandpaper) to remove an remnants of the previous adhesives (the word "thermal" doesn't apply)
5 - Used compressed air on the card to remove any small particles
6 - Rubbed Q-Tips, again soaked in isoprobyl alcohol, on the surface of the card to make sure to remove any small, metal particles
7 - Put masking tape VERY carefully around all RAM chips so as to not allow any AS Epoxy to drip on the sides
8 - Attached the Tweakmonsters to the RAM chips
9 - After waiting 1/2 hour for the AS Epoxy to dry, I removed the masking tape. At some points, this included taking a razor blade to the sides of the RAMsink in order to get the Epoxy that had dried too much and wouldn't come off with the masking tape. However, I was careful not to scratch the metal that comes out the sides of the chips and connect to the PCB.
10 - Put AS3 on the GPU and attached the COrb with pushpins.

The only part that I can think of that would have damaged the card was when I was taking the excess AS Epoxy fromt he sides of the RAM chips, but again, I was extremely careful. When I put the card in the motherboard, it didn't post at all. So I switched out video cards, and again it didn't post. So now, even if my video card IS messed up, I know for sure that my motherboard is done for. It's obviously possible that the motherboard died out of freak bad luck, but considering that its death corresponded with the modding of my video card, you can imagine that I'm suspicious. Could my card have ruined it when I plugged it back in. I didn't see or hear anything unusual when I turned my computer on, other than the fact that it wasn't posting.

The reason I'm concerned is, I'm getting a new case, and I have a new motherboard and CPU to put in it. However, I don't want to put everything in there and ruin my new motherboard. I'm also afraid of testing my card in another computer for fear of ruining THAT motherboard. Is it possible that my video card would have ruined my motherboard, or is it more likely that its just a coincidence that the motherboard went out at the same time?

I would say that the card is prolly still good, and it was just a coincidence that the motherboard won't work. If you didn't do any voltage mods then I dunno why it would be any different than before. I modded my Radeon 8500, and wasn't nearly as careful as it seems you were, and didn't have any problems. I would say the card should be fine in the new motherboard.

If you have an old board that you can test it in to be sure instead of the new one, that would be ideal.

That's good to know. I thought I was pretty careful. Considering that the AS Epoxy isn't supposed to be conductive, I didn't figure that anything would have happened.
