Modeps is right. Most DVD movies you watch are DL. Ever watched a movie and about 1/2 through there is a slight pause (last maybe 1 to 2 seconds?) Well, thats the DVD player realigning to the second layer for playback. This process has been speed up by newer DVD players....but older ones its still noticable, especially mine.
I think he means burnable DL DVD-R's, in which case the answer is i don't know. It probably depends on which drive your Xbox has. If it has the Thompson drive then no, problably not (the Tompson drive sucks). The others might.

but if you have a modded xbox, why bother with media? use XBMC to play DVD images. 1TB+ server and growing of images for me, and I don't have to switch disks EVER.
